This is a brand new dash cam I’ve just started testing and it’s showing lots of early promise. Thinkware makes some wonderful dash cams, but this is on its way to becoming one of my favourites.
I realise 1080p recording might not sound great at this price, but the sensor is so clear and crisp it outperforms some of the 2K cameras I’ve tried. It’s particularly good at night.
It also has a smart feature that monitors the health of your battery, so it can shut itself down if it thinks it’s going to drain it too much. All in all, a very clever new dash cam.
The Thinkware initially looks like fair value, but it’s missing some key features, the most obvious being footage quality. The difference isn’t as stark as you might expect, but in some situations, rivals picked up a number plate legibly and the F70 couldn’t.
There’s no screen, so the camera is compact, and there is a simple button to save footage. We like the no-cost option of a hard wire too, but adding a GPS sensor costs another £20.
