To use the Wi-Fi hotspot, you need a data plan, which can be either part of your existing mobile operators plan or a separate plan specifically for the car’s hotspot. These plans vary in data limits and pricing, so you can choose one that fits your needs.
Thinkware Connected offer a tailor-made LTE SIM plan, Specifically suited to the Thinkware dash cam user’s requirements, providing seamless network switching between Europe’s largest mobile phone networks for the best signal possible avoiding signal black spots.
With a data limit set to allow the average dash cam user to fully exploit the features such as remote live view, and parking impact notifications.
When ordering your router, you can choose either the iVolt version, which is intended to be installed with an iVolt external battery pack for its power supply or you can choose to install the router to the vehicle’s battery. This option is supplied with a voltage protector unit that monitors your vehicle’s power supply, much like the Thinkware dash cams, and will power the router down when it detects that the battery is getting low.
The Wi-Fi router hotspot connects to the internet via a cellular network using the 2 windscreen mounted antenna. It then broadcasts a Wi-Fi signal inside the vehicle, allowing multiple devices like smartphones, tablets, laptops, and dash cams to connect to the internet simultaneously.
If you are using the Router for additional devices then you will need to look at a more extensive data plan.

Strong Impact Notifications While Driving
If a serious impact greater than 3G force is detected while driving, the Thinkware Connected system will immediately send a notification to the mobile app and an emergency message to registered contacts.
The alert includes:
The location of the incident
A link to a 20-second video clip showing 10 seconds before and after the impact
This video is automatically saved to the server, allowing it to be accessed later if needed. This feature helps ensure that family members, colleagues, or fleet managers can respond quickly in the event of a major incident.
Note: While the 20-second impact clip is being saved, the dash cam cannot record additional footage.
Impact Notifications While Parked
If an impact occurs while the vehicle is parked, the Thinkware Connected app will send a push notification immediately.
You will also have the option to save a 20-second video clip of the event (10 seconds before and after the impact) to the Thinkware Connected server for later review.
Parking Surveillance Mode must be enabled on the dash cam.
Emergency Assistance Function
Drivers can manually request help by holding the REC button on the dash cam for more than three seconds. This will automatically send an emergency message to all registered contacts along with the vehicle’s location.
A 10-second video clip (5 seconds before and after the event) is uploaded to the server to provide additional context.
Remote Live View
With Thinkware Connected, you can view a live feed from the dash cam and check the vehicle’s location in real time using the mobile app.
This feature is particularly useful for:
Fleet managers monitoring vehicles
Parents keeping track of family vehicles
Vehicle owners checking on their car remotely
Vehicle Status and Driving History
The Thinkware Connected app allows you to monitor important vehicle information remotely, including:
Whether the vehicle is driving or parked
Battery voltage status
The ability to remotely turn off the dash cam if the battery voltage becomes low
The app also provides driving history reports, including route information, trip distance, time, and driving behaviour.
Parking Location Capture
Never forget where you parked your vehicle again. Thinkware Connected automatically saves an image of the front and rear camera views along with the location of where the vehicle was last parked.
You can also review previous parking locations through the Parking History feature within the mobile app.
Geo-Fencing Alerts
Geo-Fencing allows you to create a custom geographic zone around a specific area. The system will send a notification whenever the vehicle enters or exits the selected zone.
The radius of the zone can be easily set using Google Maps, ranging from 100 metres up to 600 kilometres.
Geo-Fencing is available with Thinkware Connected Home and Enterprise plans.
